Joy Halleron is a very qualified and credentialed aged care professional with formal qualifications in nursing and experience in managing aged care facilities. Joy emigrated from Scotland in OCt 2005 with a Bachelor of Nursing Degree from University of Dundee. Joy came to Australia with Clinical Community Nursing Experience and commenced her Career in Perth as a Clinical Nurse with Silver Chain. A chance opportunity as a Care Manager changed her career pathway and during her 7 years with Brighwater Care Group she developed a passion for positively influencing the lives of people living with Dementia. A full scholarship from the Royal College of Nursing Australia allowed Joy to obtain a Masters Degree in Health Services Management from ECU in 2014. Joy is very happily married to Peter and has a step son, daughter, son, 2 granddaughters and a Spoodle called Hamish.
Jo was born and bred in Collie and happily lives on a small property in Allanson with her Husband, two children and a variety of fur babies. When not working Jo spends a lot of her spare time on the farm she owns with her family near Boyup Brook or in Albany where her husband is currently employed.
Jo has owned and Managed two small businesses, one in Australind when she was 20 and the other, more recently in Collie. She was also employed at Chemmart Pharmacy for 14 years and had many roles within the Pharmacy such as Dispensary Manager, Webster Manager and Retail Manager. She has countless certificates due to studying whilst being employed at the Pharmacy, more notably, Certificate 2 and 3 in Pharmacy Assistance and Certificate 4 in Retail Management. She was also nominated for Pharmacy Assistant of the Year in 2016 out of thousands of Pharmacy Assistants across Australia.
Jo has been employed at ValleyView since early 2019 as the Business Support Manager. She thoroughly enjoys working in a facility with such high standards of care, with an amazing, dynamic team who are passionate about the role they each play within the organisation.
